New Faces at CES

Jul 26, 2012 - 05:00 PM by CES

The Coalition of Essential Schools bids a fond farewell to departing National Director Elizabeth Jardine and welcomes 2012 Fall Forum Director Laura Thomas, Program Coordinator Wanda Crique, and communications consultant Christine Stephens to the CES team.

During her tenure as national director, Ms. Jardine re-established the Coalition in Providence, Rhode Island.  She reinstituted and invigorated our newsletter and our presence on Facebook and Twitter, and laid the groundwork for the next outstanding Fall Forum.

“CES owes Elizabeth a debt of gratitude for stepping in and bringing order and clarity to our operations and our work.  Her hard work and accomplishments leave us stronger and ready to move forward with the work of supporting schools that, in the tradition of Ted Sizer, make a difference in the lives of young people,” says CES Board President Dr. George Wood.

Bringing boundless energy to her new role as Fall Forum 2012 Director is Laura Thomas, (lthomas@antioch.edu),  veteran educator and director of the Antioch Center for School Renewal in Keene, New Hampshire.

Our Providence office is in the very capable hands of Program Coordinator Wanda Crique (wanda@essentialschools.org), who will be conducting business with CES affiliates.  Christine Stephens  (cstephens73@gmail.com) will handle communications and media requests.
