Head Teacher

Job Description:
The Blue Hill Harbor School, a one year old, project based learning high school is seeking a creative, energetic educational leader as its Head Teacher. The school is Board and Teacher led and uses personalized project based learning to help prepare students for college, careers and global citizenship. As an affiliate of EdVisions, the Blue Hill Harbor School abandons the “one-size fits all” education model and integrates student choice and rigorous learning in a smaller, more personalized environment. In addition to the head teacher role within the EdVisions model, duties will include: • Building/coordinating a team teaching collaborative to maximize personalized learning for each student • Developing a base of student project mentors • Assisting in fund raising for the school • Attend to the day-to-day routines and administration of the program

Qualifications:
• Strong, dynamic communications skills and the ability to connect with students, community leaders, project mentors, donors and the Board • Teaching experience and a clear understanding of project based learning a must; EdVisions experience highly desirable. • Entrepreneurial mindset • Good administrative & planning skills • High degree of computer literacy Northeast Regional Credentials would facilitate Maine certification and be viewed as a plus. Pay to be commensurate with experience.
