| Workshop + Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction + Everyone |
| Join us for a review of what has already been accomplished to ensure that girls do not continue to "drop out" of the digital world. We will also consider what changes are needed to provide girls access to the economic and social opportunities that technology will create in the 21st century. The discussion will focus on placing the debate on girls' technology education within a framework, review research on girls' interest in and use of computer technology, and will examine successful projects that concentrate on girls' achievements with computers. In addition, participants will consider differences in the ways girls and boys use computer-based technologies, as well as explore classroom strategies to ensure equity. Participants will receive a handout packet that will provide additional resources, ideas and samples of student work. |
