| Roundtable + Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction + Everyone |
| Five years ago, we first met for a CES roundtable in San Francisco to address equity, especially as it relates to the teaching and learning of mathematics. Although high-stakes testing and accountability have made inequities more visible, little has changed in politics, pedagogy, or practice. Is "equity" only a word? Who cares? Are we simply preaching in the desert? What is it that we must do in order to become institutions of learning where success for all children is the operating paradigm? Join us, share conversation, and plan strategies for addressing equity issues. Panelists will include four mathematics instructors who have taught underserved students in urban schools for numerous years. |
