| Workshop + Classroom Practice: assessment + Middle School |
| In this session, a middle school teacher and a kindergarten/first grade teacher (and student advisor) will present the story of the development of Mission Hill School's graduation requirements. We will show a short film of our work, and will provide written materials and descriptions of graduation assessments from our school and other area schools. We will also look at student work as examples in several presentation domains. After the presentation portion, we will solicit questions and ideas from the audience, trying to expand the group notion of how portfolio presentations can be used to demonstrate competence and the habits of mind and work. In addition to providing practical details, we will discuss essential questions raised by this kind of assessment. |
