The Create-ful Dead and Other Collaborative Projects
Facilitator(s): Paul Stampleman, Dan Faurot-Daniels

Workshop   +   Community Connections: community as resource   +   High School
Collaboration between the community and the school can drive educational experiences that emphasize the student-as-worker model. The Crossroads History Project at Anzar High School helps students bring the dead back to life by collaborating with cemeteries, public libraries, historical societies, the National Park Service, School-to-Career programs, businesses, and community members. This project has encouraged the development of student projects that emphasize real-world skills. The facilitators will demonstrate how this project began, the planning and collaborative process, and examples of student work. Participants will develop ideas for collaborative projects in other settings and disciplines.
