| Presenting a "State of the School Night" has greatly improved our school/community relations, increased support for our school budget and provided data from the community for the next steps we should take. For the past two years, Sacopee Valley High School has presented student data related to testing, attendance, perceptions, graduation rates, discipline, scheduling data, and post-high school statistics. This data is presented to everyone present and attendees are divided into focus groups to determine what the information tells about the school, and to suggest next steps to be taken for school improvement. In this roundtable, we will share our action plan for creating a "State of the School" night and discuss how it generates community support. |
