LEADing for Equity: A New Model to Create Leaders for Small Schools
Facilitator(s): Gloria Rodriguez, Kathleen Osta, Joel Baum, Maggie Szabo

Workshop   +   Leadership: governance   +   Everyone
BayCES has entered into a partnership with California State University at Hayward to develop and offer an innovative, field-based, administrative credential program designed specifically for leaders committed to designing small, personalized schools focused on equity. The program is built around the cohort model with an emphasis on creating a safe space for leaders to reflect on their current practice through the lens of equity and achievement, and to learn from one another's experience in the field. Rather than attend discrete classes to meet requirements, the LEAD cohort will engage in an integrated, year-long course of study guided by self-identified inquiry questions. Individual inquiry work will be supported by the examination of research, seminar discussions, guided reflective practice, school visits, and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
Date/Time: Saturday, 10:30am - 12:30pm   Room: CC 612   Session #284
