Using Classroom Assessment to Enhance Teaching and Learning

This workshop focuses on the classroom assessment of reading and writing. We will begin with a framework for understanding how different types of assessment are neccesary in a complete assessment system. Using samples of student work, we will explore how to develop classroom assessment tools that align with learning outcomes and how to analyze student work to inform instruction. We will also examine strategies for engaging students in self-evaluation and self-reflection.
