Sophomore Gateway Roundtable: A Tool to Improve Student Reflection and Parent Involvement
Facilitator(s): Heidi Brewer, Heidi Early

Workshop   +   School Design: structures   +   High School
In this presentation, we will explore the process Noble High School has gone through in developing a sophomore gateway roundtable. We will examine the philosophy behind such a gateway, and will look at the four components currently being used at Noble, including: portfolio, reflective letter, dialogue (a student-led conference involving parents), and "habits of mind" demonstration. We will see sample portfolios and reflective letters, and will view video examples of actual roundtables. Finally, we will discuss the lessons we've learned and discuss our plans for next steps. If you are interested in looking at assessment and involving parents in the assessment process, this is the session for you!
