Too Many Faces, So Many Names: Personalizing Learning through Better Student-Teacher Connections
Facilitator(s): Mark Raiff, Sue Mash

Roundtable   +   School Design: structures   +   High School
"...CES schools reflect the research that smaller schools provide better learning contexts for students on a wide variety of indicators, including academic performance, student retention, course grades, course completion, graduation rates, and parent, teacher and student satisfaction." (Wasley et al. Small School Study, 2000) This roundtable, focusing on the question "How do we make a big school seem smaller?", will encourage participants to contribute ideas from their own efforts to personalize teaching and learning. The roundtable facilitators will share results from their investigation into strategies to create smaller learning communities that could demonstrate positive results presented in the CES success document "Principles at Work."
