Storytelling from the Right Side of the Brain
Facilitator(s): Joe Miller

Workshop   +   Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction   +   Everyone
Ever find yourself in a pedagogical pinch, where your method is at odds with your intended goals? Knowing the physics of flight is not the same as piloting an airplane, and knowing the physics of sound is not the same thing as making music. The bridge between ideas and principles and a changed praxis is artful and enabling technique. If you've feasted on principles and want to explore some techniques, this workshop may be just the thing for you. Our students will never find their creative and imaginative voices if their teachers never take the time to discover their own. This workshop is a space for you to rekindle the flames of imagination in yourself and recapitulate this quest for fire in your students. You will climb in and out of stories, other peoples' imaginations, and learn how structured improvisational tasks release the energy of creativity.
