Workshop   +   Community Connections: parent involvement   +   Elementary School
How do you design and evaluate parent programs? How do you know if they work? Two staff members from Silver Street Elementary School in Marion, OH will present their efforts to increase parental involvement and parent education in their school. A Silver Street parent will be on hand to share experiences and ways that her interaction with her child has changed as a result of these programs. Research and data collection procedures will be shared and participants will work in small groups to examine parent journals and portfolios, and to discuss programs that work in their schools.
