Assessment Rubrics for Visual Arts
Facilitator(s): Elizabeth Gosselin, Martha Rives

Roundtable   +   Classroom Practice: assessment   +   High School
Assessment in the visual arts has been a patchwork of objective criteria and subjective critiquing. Written rubrics seem to light the way toward clearer, more objective and fairer performance assessments. The goal is to increase personalization and student involvement in their own learning. This roundtable discussion will center on the question, "How does the process of students participating in defining standards and writing rubrics help increase personalization in the art classroom?" Actual examples will be available that are in use in our classrooms.
