Engaging Students in the Study of Ancient Civilizations
|
| Workshop + Curriculum & Instruction + Middle School |
| Do you feel as though your students are not connecting to history? Are you looking for creative interdisciplinary activities to engage your students in the study of ancient civilization? Two sixth grade humanities teachers will describe how art, technology, cross-curricular activities and exhibitions have sparked their students' interest in the study of early humans, ancient Egypt, and ancient Greece. Students learn to make connections to the past and begin to develop a love for the study of ancient cultures. Participants will receive exhibition guidelines, sample lessons, and will discuss possibilities for implementation.
