Creatively Cultivating Content Concepts |

| Elementary teachers today face the challenge of additional curricular responsibilities in an already demanding classroom schedule. Integrating content area benchmarks and standards with creative arts can lessen planning and implementation time while meeting the needs of students with multiple intelligences. Participants will be guided through the "working backwards" process of unit development, performance-based assessment, and student-teacher developed rubrics. Activities that equitably engage all learners will be explored in interactive presentations with self-reflection and outcome evaluation models. This integrated approach embraces the Ten Common Principles through quality instructional strategies that truly motivate the learner. |
