Good Morning, Ted! Building a School Culture That Inspires Respectful and Independent Learners

Roundtable   +   Curriculum & Instruction   +   Everyone
How do we create an elementary school culture that supports and challenges our kids to be respectful, independent learners? The Highlander Charter School, a new elementary school in Providence, is based on principles of individualized learning within a community environment. Join Highlander teachers and parents to discuss issues of community building, individualized learning, and curriculum. We will talk about daily morning meetings, community meetings, multi-aged interactions, individualized learning plans, and curriculum design evolving from community needs and student choice. We will all leave empowered to use specific strategies and structures to form a positive and progressive school culture focused on each and every learner.
