Evolution in Any Environment! An Interdisciplinary Course Framework for Student Inquiry
|
| Roundtable + Curriculum & Instruction + High School |
| Come on the river with us. See the evolution of the river, the valley it created, the organisms that live in, on, by and above it. Guide your students on a canoe trip to explore and understand evolution in the context of the river.
We present an evolution/environmental systems course framework that focuses on allowing students to attain a level of achievement commensurate with their aptitude. Strong connections between standard academic content and principles of inclusion, heterogeneity and alternative assessments will become evident in the presentation of an indoor/outdoor, macro/micro study of the dynamic living environment.
This roundtable session will focus on the creative process used to develop a thematic, interdisciplinary curricula and associated instructional materials to encourage active learning and achievement for students both in and out of the classroom. |
