Getting Out of the Way: Implications for Teacher Practice and Student Achievement

Roundtable   +   Curriculum & Instruction   +   Everyone
In this roundtable, participants will examine artifacts from a week-long middle school group art project and learn about the project prcoess. Using the Consultancy Protocol, participants and presenters will examine their assumptions about teacher practice, and will investigate the notion that good practice results in success for all students, regardless of the setting. This roundtable invites discussion of three questions: What constitutes good teacher practice? What is the teacher's role in student achievement? What can be learned from teacher practice and student achievement in the arts that can be transferred to success for all students in every classroom?
