From Experience to Meaning: Facilitation Techniques for the Classroom

Workshop   +   Curriculum & Instruction   +   Everyone
A good facilitator guides, inspires, encourages and challenges. As an art that combines listening, questioning and planning skills to create powerful experiences for participants, facilitation embodies the ideal of the "teacher as coach" philosophy. In this workshop, participants will focus on the "how's" of facilitation and experiential learning. Using real-life curricula, we will practice using an experiential model to create lessons that empower students to take control of the learning process. We will create questions that encourage reflection at each stage of the process and will practice our newly-honed facilitation skills together.
