From Freshmen Oriention to the Hug Line: Change in the Traditional School |
| Workshop + School Design + High School |
| Be real about implementing change in a functioning traditional school of 1,000 students. Learn how one school is creating a more personal student experience through a process specific to each grade level. Increased parental involvement, more demanding curriculum through content teams (not interdisciplinary), and a variety of strategies to provide academic and social support for all students will be discussed. As we share our successes and our challenges, each participant can develop a "big picture" plan for her school as well as leave with a number of nifty strategies, large and small. Less is truly more as we learn the virtues of focus, capturing energy, and knowing onesself. |
