Portfolios and exhibitions provide an authentic, in-depth gauge of student learning. Students can demonstrate their knowledge and growth as a learner over time as well as how they process and then apply information. This workshop details the portfolio process that leads up to Wildwood’s Gateway Exhibitions in eighth and tenth grades and Graduation Presentations by seniors. The workshop includes: the definition of authentic assessment and how it is demonstrated, the narrative assessment process, design and implementation of portfolio requirements, presentations and exhibitions, narrative assessment and the college application process, and student demonstrations of Gateway and Graduation Presentations.
