CES Small Schools Project Summer Institute The Essentials of Small Schools: Principles and Practices for Equity & Achievement July 11-15, 2005 Tacoma, Washington
The Coalition of Essential Schools & CES Northwest invite you to join us for our Summer Institute July 11-15, at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.
This institute will include workshops, discussion groups, and facilitated planning time, organized around the following essential question: how do we design and continuously improve schools that support powerful instruction and success for all students?
Workshops and roundtables will be led by CES Mentor Schools, including Urban Academy, Eagle Rock School, Boston Arts Academy, Quest High School, Fenway High School, Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School, and Federal Hocking High School.
Presenters and speakers include some of the most effective, renowned small school educators in the country. Participation is open to teams of educators interested in small high school design. The Institute will provide powerful professional development for large high school teams interested in converting to small schools, as well as teams creating or improving new, small schools.
REGISTRATION: Starting April 18, 2005
COST: $1000 for CESN affiliates, $1200 non-affiliates. Price covers all materials, lodging and meals (including breakfast, lunch and dinner) and fees during the institute. Cost also includes a planned dinner cruise on Puget Sound to view the scenic islands and skyline of the Seattle and Tacoma area.
Note: Schedule and/or events are subject to change.
More detailed information about the Institute and the CES Small Schools Project can be accessed at www.essentialschools.org. More information about the CES Mentor Schools can be found at www.ceschangelab.org. |
