Message:Federal Hocking High School and Quest High School are offering the following professional development opportunities to anyone interested in creating schools and classrooms that are relevant, engaging, and visionary. Don't miss these amazing opportunities; register now!

FEDERAL HOCKING HIGH SCHOOL
Stewart, OH

Student Engagement: Advisory, Democracy, and Relevance, Oct. 4 - 6

Central to high school restructuring is overcoming what most students see as the major problems with school: they are bored, they feel nobody cares about them, and they don’t see how what they are learning is connected to anything else. This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the tools that FHHS uses to engage students — advisory, student democracy, and a core curriculum linked to the world in which they live. The workshop will include an overview of the FHHS program and its results, visits to advisory and classes, and sessions with teachers, administrators, and students designed to demonstrate the methods used at FHHS. It is recommended that a team of participants attend, including parents, students, faculty, and administrators.

Registration: Open until 9/19
Fee: $300 (10% discount for CES Affiliate Schools)

For more information or to register, contact Cheryl Hedges at 740-448-3402 or by email at chedges@forumforeducation.org.
