The Coalition of Essential Schools is currently revising the CES Benchmarks; WE WANT AND NEED YOUR INPUT. The CES Benchmarks will address the long-standing challenge of helping schools translate the Coalition's guiding tenets, the Common Principles, into practice. Intended as a tool for schools and centers, the benchmarks reflect the Coalition's principle-based approach to school reform and illustrate best practices and lessons learned in the field and from CES research and professional development. Benchmarks will be a clear strategy in helping answer questions such as: What should all CES students know and be able to do? What does a Coalition school look like? What role does a school's community play in implementing the Common Principles?
To give us your feedback on the Benchmarks, please go to www.essentialanalysis.org, then click on the appropriate login. Fill in your name and select ** Benchmark Feedback at the top of the dropdown menu. Follow the link to the benchmark revision template. Thank you for taking the time to help shape such an important document. We appreciate your feedback in articulating what a CES school looks like. You can provide feedback through April 3rd, 2008.
If you have any questions, please email Jay Feldman (jfeldman@essentialschools.org).
