Independent school serving grades: 7, 8, 9, 10
|
| Mission:
|
- To provide a quality, affordable alternative for secondary education on St. John
- To foster high level college preparatory skills within a stimulating, creative environment
- To utilize small class sizes and community outreach to develop well-rounded, independent thinkers.
The Coral Bay School was founded in September, 2000, as St. John's first independent secondary school. It currently serves grades 7-10 and will add one grade each year until its first class graduates in the spring of 2004. Previous to the school's existence all St. John students had to commute to the neighboring island of St. Thomas to complete their high school education. The school's enrollment has more than tripled (from 13 students to 42 students) since it opened its doors in September, 2000, to this posting in May, 2002.
