Fall Forum Featured Session
School reform, with few exceptions, has left out a key component of the community in which many students we serve are deeply rooted in: faith based organizations. Come to this session to hear a variety of local prominent religious leaders dialogue across difference about this year’s Fall Forum theme and their role in supporting educational reform. In this panel discussion moderated by the San Francisco Coalition of Essential Small Schools, panelists will respond to the Essential Question: From your perspective as a religious leader in your community, what does demanding education look like? How should faith based organizations support this urgent demand? At the end of the session, there will be time for the panel to answer audience-generated questions.
San Francisco Coalition of Essential Small Schools (SF-CESS), a CES affiliate center, intends to make an impact on the design and sustainability of new and existing small schools in San Francisco by providing coaching, technical assistance and professional development focused on equity, inquiry and achievement to a network of schools. SF-CESS shares best practices for creating the conditions necessary for schools to be equitable and high performing. SF-CESS intends to make a significant contribution to achievement and the lives of children in the San Francisco-Bay Area, as well as throughout the nation.
