George Watsky

George Watsky is a writer and performer from San Francisco. He is the 2006 Youth Speaks Grand Slam Poetry Champion, Brave New Voices National Slam Champion, and the 2006 Sundance Summit winner for poetry on climate change, and has been featured on Russell Simmons presents Def Poetry. His debut poetry collection, Undisputed Backtalk Champion (First Word Press), is in its second printing. Watsky co-wrote and played Dante in the Living Word Festival’s version of Dante’s Divine Comedy; his one-man show, So Many Levels, has been mounted in San Francisco and Boston. Watsky is an acting candidate at Emerson College.
