What is the CES Interactive area?
CES Interactive seeks to sustain conversations occuring across the country on the Common Principles. It strives to make the dialogue available to a wider audience in a forum that is informative, useful, and participatory. More details on participating in discussions.
What happens if I join?
By joining the CES Interactive Area you become part of the CES online community and your email address becomes available to other CES practitioners. You can read, participate in, and create conversations on issues or projects. There is no fee for participation.
How do I join and what information do I need to give?
You need to provide your name, email address, a username and a password. If you are ready to provide these four items, you are ready to join.
How do I know if I've already BEEN joined?
If you are a member of CES Congress, Executive Board, ChangeLab, EssentialAnalysis.org, EssentialBlog.org, a current CES research project, a Congress working group, a Center Director, or National Staff, you have likely already been "joined." We entered your email address and created a user name and password for each of you. Since you are already a participant of the Interactive Area, you can enter the area by clicking on "homebase" and typing in your user name and password.
I think I'm already in a discussion. Does that mean I'm already "joined?"

I tried to join and was told "my email address already exists." What now?
This means you have already joined or been joined. If you are a member of the CES Executive Board, a CES research project, a Center Director, or National Staff, you have likely already been "joined." Did I already join myself?
Only you can answer this. But....... if you submitted an ONLINE application to present at Fall Forum any of the previous three Fall Forums, you had to join. And if you registered for the Fall Forum ONLINE or used the ONLINE Program Guide for the Fall Forum, you had to join. Use the username and password you created then.
What if I know I joined myself but can't remember my username and password?

How do I start a discussion?
Electronic discussions may be created by any member of the CES Community that has "joined " the CES Interactive Area by clicking on "add a discussion" on your hombase page. Discussions vary in nature from philosophical dialogue on issues, to coordination and implementation of research projects.
How do I make a discussion appear in the CES Highlighted Discussion list? When you make a discussion, you become the manager of that discussion. You can add other participants to the discussion. To have your discussion added to the CES Highlighted Discussions list, contact Joe Pattaphongse at the address below.
What does a question mark next to my discussion mean? A new discussion will have a question mark next to it until it has been approved. Contact Joe Pattaphongse at the address below if your discussion hasn't been approved after two weeks from its creation.
What if I want to communicate through email, not the Web?
You may participate in a discussion through email or the web. All discussion communication is sent to your email address, unless you specify in your profile that you wish to view messages on the Web site only. Creating or subscribing to a discussion can be done only from the Web site.

I've forgotten my user name or password, what do I do?

I want to change my password.
Go to your "homebase" Click on "Modify Profile," click on "Change Password," and type in your new password and submit.
When I click on a link, I get bounced back to my homebase page
This happens when you don't have access to that particular area of the site. For example, only record owners and assigned editors of school profiles can edit them and add/or enter annual school data.
I know my username & password are correct, but I still can't login.
