Frequently Asked Questions

What is the relationship of CES National to CES centers?

CES National provides an important networking infrastructure through Fall Forum, the CES journal Horace, this national Web site, and advocacy. CES believes that school change occurs locally. A national organization should not mandate a "one size fits all" model to schools. Each child, school, school community, district, and state looks very different from one another, and therefore, requires different services. CES centers work directly with schools through coaching and strategic planning. Each center takes shape according to the needs of the community it serves.

How many schools does CES have?

We believe thousands of schools across the country and around the world are working towards implementation of the CES Principles. Our formal network consist of approximately 600 schools for which participation varies from being a CES National Affiliate School to receiving coaching services from a regional center to attending the annual Fall Forum. What is CES National affiliation?

This is a program created to give schools the opportunity to endorse the work of CES National and formally identify themselves as having made a commitment to the Common Principles. It also allows schools to use some of the interactive tools on this web site. Affiliation does not imply capacity, quality, or level of CES work occurring in a school. What if I am not from a school but want to become part of the CES Network?

You can affiliate as a "Friend." To learn how to affiliate click here >>. You also can attend our annual Fall Forum which is a conference of over 2,000 educators sharing best practices, ideas, and strategies with the network. To learn more about the upcoming Fall Forum, click here >>
