CES Interactive Discussions
CES Interactive seeks to sustain conversations occuring accross the country on the Common Principles. It strives to make the dialogue available to a wider audience in a forum that is informative, useful, and participatory.
The CES Interactive Area represents a growing online community of students, teachers, administrators, CES Centers, and CES National Staff who are interested in sharing tools, resources, and strategies for improving schools.
Electronic discussions may be created by any member of the CES Community that has"joined" CES Interactive by clicking on "Create a Discussion" in the toolbar to the right. Discussions vary in nature from philosophical dialogue on school reform issues to correspondence useful in the coordination and implementation of projects. View Highlighted CES Discussions.
When you join CES Interactive, you become part of the CES online community and your email address becomes available to other CES practitioners. If you are looking for a CES colleague, click on "find." To see the list of groups to which you are subscribed, click on your "homebase."
You can participate in CES Discussion via email or the Web site. Using the Web site is helpful if you want to see the "threaded" history of the conversation. You may browse through messages or actively participate in the dialogue. Some people choose to participate via email alone. All messages sent to your groups come directly to your email inbox.
One caveat, when you reply to a message sent to a discussion, your response automatically goes out to the entire group. It can be problematic if you send an entire group a message intended for one person. Therefore it is important to know how to recognize a "discussion" message. Look for the name of the discussion, which will appear at the very top of the message. (e.g. "To CES Regional Centers") Instructions for replying to an individual sender will appear at the bottom of every message.
