Educating for Sustainability M.Ed., 32 credits
As educators, we are agents for change, and change is needed now. Our current way of life is not sustainable. What is required to achieve sustainability is a paradigm shift, and that can only be effected through education. Educating for Sustainability (EFS) is about helping people learn how to meet their needs without compromising future generations’ abilities to meet their needs. This M.Ed. program focuses on the interdependence of environment, economy, and equity—the three Es of EFS—and how we may apply EFS at any grade level and in every subject area.

Antioch Year Round M.Ed. Programs
Students and faculty meet monthly, on weekends, at locally clustered sites in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine to pursue their passions for teaching and learning.
Professional Development, M.Ed., 32 credits
The Professional Development Program emphasizes the importance of integrating theory with practice and respects teachers as independent, self-directed learners. This program explores the implications of current learning theory, the impact of contemporary social and political events, and the role of the teacher as curriculum designer. Each student identifies an area of interest for in-depth study in a master’s project. Students in the Professional Development Concentration include a great variety of people who are engaged in the vital role of teaching: preK-12th grade teachers, artists, musicians, nurses, consultants, and adult educators. They are professionals who have made a professional commitment to teaching and learning, who seek to expand their knowledge, who know the power of working together, and who value the opportunity of life-long learning.

Critical Skills Concentration, M.Ed., 32 credits
Critical Skills is a unique educational model developed at Antioch New England emphasizing problem-based, standards-driven, experiential and collaborative learning. Critical Skills teachers design, coach and support the learning process; students actively solve meaningful problems, reflect on what they are learning, work as a team and exhibit their learning in a variety of ways. Experienced Educator students may elect the Critical Skills concentration during the first year of their program. Critical Skills training is also offered as intensive, one-week institutes throughout North America and the United Kingdom.

Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate, M.Ed., 36 credits
As educators, we are challenged by the special needs of our students and the increasing demands on us and on our school systems. This is particularly true as we face the complex and quickly developing arena of ASD. In a few short years we have seen an escalation in the number of children identified with ASD and an increased need for teachers, schools, and families to develop educational strategies and interventions for meeting these students’ needs. The ASD Certificate MEd degree is for teachers, counselors, nurses, and other education professionals. The program emphasizes working with students that are on the higher functioning end of the autism spectrum, especially High Functioning Autism, Asperger Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified.

Principal Certification, M.Ed., 40 credits
The mission of the principal certification program is to develop school administrators who can articulate their purpose, goals, and values, and have the knowledge and skills to put them into action. The program is for professional educators, with at least three years of teaching experience who wish to become certified as administrators in school systems while continuing to work full-time. Principal certification students combine coursework from both the Experienced Educator Professional Development Program and the Principal Certification Post-Master's Certificate. Certification is conferred in conjunction with the State of New Hampshire. All applicants should check with the State Board of Education of the state in which they are seeking certification to confirm the requirements for that particular state’s certification.
